James 1: 2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. The Bible makes it abundantly clear that follower of Christ will face trials. Weather willingly or unwillingly these situations that test us are meant for our good. To refine our corrupt selves. To make us more like Christ. In the world of missions the missionary willingly accepts that there will be trials. Going into a foreign land brings with it a wide variety of challenges that must be dealt with. Keeping God at the center of all this makes navigating them a bit easier and ensures He receives the glory
Into the wild.
Cast into the fray pining for another day,
Wandering around not a soul to be found.
To the mountains I go weaving to and fro,
Trying to make a way and survive another day.
Finding myself no regard for wealth,
It’s left me long ago I’ve got nothing to show.
The mountains they do call bidding to us all,
Only a few will bite taking up the fight.
The trek is draining little strength remaining,
Not seeking a cure just memories that are pure.
Looking to wander to be free to ponder,
What story I’d tell when I’ve made it through hell.
Stepping back out of the trees straight down to my knees,
To thank the Lord for all he’s done and the battle that’s been won.
thanks matthew
