“Ring the Bell” Movie Review

This heartwarming 2013 movie is rated PG. It is entertaining and will inspire the whole family. It is a beautiful movie of a small town that changes lives.

Ryan Scharoun plays Rob Decker, the big city slicker, selfish sports agent who comes to the little town of Middleton to recruit a high school baseball player to the pro league. He is so conceited, he thinks he always gets his own way. He is the CEO of his own company and all he thinks of his work and making more money.

The town offers him more than he owns. They feed his soul. His heart, mind, and attitude are in for a surprise. He finds out that there is more to life than money, fame, and winning. They share the love of Jesus and they preach that “it is not about me, but about God’s will and the kingdom of God that counts.” You will see Jesus’ light shines through these people. Their inspiration comes from God, not the world.

Ashley Anderson McCarthy plays Daisy. She and her brother, Scooter, played by Casey Bond, own a ranch home for boys. It is their calling to help the boys come to their place to heal from all the heartbreak and pain that they came from. It is Daisy and Scooter’s mission in life. They do everything in their power to hold on to their boys and the values and faith that they learn. When Rob Decker comes and tries to recruit one of their boys, Rob is in for a challenge.

The ringing of the bell is a big deal for their home. It represents the best decision anyone can ever make. This whole movie has a wonderful message of salvation.

Casting Crowns is featured and Steven Curtis Chapman plays the town’s Pastor. Three baseball legends—John Kruk, Ben Zobrist, and Rick Sutcliffe make an appearance, too. It is a wonderful movie. It really shows an inner struggle of a man who realizes he wants more out of his life, but never knew it before. It is worth your time to watch. Enjoy!

Revelation 3:20 (NKJV)—“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”

1 Chronicles 16:23 (NKJV)–Sing to the Lord, all the earth; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
