Small Book With Big Truths

Do you really believe that Christ is coming back? I mean honestly, we’ve been hearing of His return since for-ever! And He’s still not here. So, tell me, do you really believe???

Let me clarify any doubt and unbelief that may be lingering in your hearts. HE IS COMING BACK. “Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds.” (Revelation 22:12) There is coming a day when our Christian belief will be challenged. We will have to stand for Christ or fall for the devil. Are you prepare for the upcoming events associated with the second coming of Jesus Christ which will put your faith to the test? When you’re faced with choosing Christ or life, which will you pick? When you see those whom you thought were Heaven bound denying Christ, will you break?

The book “Now!” written by seventeen year old Merikay McLeod, is truly an amazing compilation that gives us a glimpse of what the end times may look like. The book gives an account of Merikay’s personal views as well as her interpretation of the Bible, Spirit of Prophecy, and other contemporary authors regarding the last days events. She quotes this verse from Daniel 12:1 at the beginning of the book; “…and there shall be a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation, even to that same time; and at that time thy people shall be delivered, everyone that shall be found written in the book.”

In the small community of Kalamazoo was where the story unfolded. The author takes us into her home and Seventh Day Adventist church where Christ is the center of attention. She was particularly motivated by the rock solid faith of her Pastor and Elders. But everything changed when the government approved the National Sunday–Sabbath Bill, which declared “Sunday the one and only day on which all Americans are to worship.” That was when her world started to fall a part, and her faith in God went through the ultimate test. She took us with her as she witnessed family and church members turned their backs on her and their belief, faced death on numerous occasions, and after a battle well fought, her victorious journey to Heaven.

Imagine all the horrid tribulation that awaits us. Notwithstanding, also imagine the blessed triumphs that also await us, if we remain strong in the faith. Victory can be ours in the end, but we’ll have to endure the beginning of cruel hatred, betrayal, and even death which is set before us. If we should fast-forward to the times ahead when the mark of the beast, the Antichrist, as well as the Sunday law is in full effect, we’ll see true Christians being utterly and severely persecuted. But let’s not be tricked into looking for a literal mark of “666” on foreheads or a literal man named “Antichrist,” instead let’s study God’s word to show ourselves approved in order to avoid deception.

“Now!” will be sure to help you get your priorities in order for the end times–it surely helped me. It’s only $1.95 and just 60 pages long. I encourage you to read it. As stated on the cover, “Both young and old will be challenged to prepare for the time of trouble, reminded of God’s protection of His children, and be inspired by this short story.” We don’t know the exact hour of Christ’s return, but it’s certain He’ll return. Time is a scarce commodity and we cannot afford for it to run out on us. Hide God’s words in your hearts and get ready.
“Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.” (Mark 13:26)

  1. Sounds like an amazing book. What amazes me more is when teens are proactive and writing books like this. Thanks so much for sharing. God bless.

  2. You’ve said it Joel. Her work is evidence that God was using her mightily. My desire is for more young people to rise up and start allowing God to use them.

  3. Hi Amelia,

Great article, but I have a random question.
Do you happen to know if the copy you are referring to here is the original pamphlet? I’ve heard Now! was revamped to reflect modern times and the original pamphlet is out of print, though not sure what to compare since I’ve only seen the original copy. The link you gave leads to what looks like the original, but without being able to look through it, I am unsure.
    I appreciate your help!

    Thank you!

    • I’m glad you enjoyed the article Marissa! The book and it’s story is not a recent one, it’s been around for some time now. So I would assume that the book I read was not the original copy. More than likely there will be more than one edition, but I can’t lead you to the original…sorry. Nevertheless, I pray the concept and the main focus of the story blessed your heart and drew you closer to God!
