‘The Blind‘ is a limited-run Fathom Events special movie release opening in theaters on Thursday, September 28th, 2023. It’s a film showing the patriarch of Duck Dynasty fame, Phil Robertson’s lowest point in life, and how, through the power of Jesus Christ, he went from a self-proclaimed heathen to one of the most famous and convicted disciples for Jesus Christ today.
2 Timothy 1:8-9 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
From the top-rated television show Duck Dynasty to one of the most successful Christian podcasts today, the Unashamed Podcast, Phil Robertson’s straightforward and unapologetic conviction of his faith and trust in Jesus Christ has become an example for all who love the Lord.
Since Jesus saved Phil in the mid-1970s, Phil and Miss Kay, Phil’s wife, have been and continue to be excellent examples of Christians through their discipleship, sharing of the Word of God, and being hospitable towards everyone they meet.
Phil and Kay have welcomed fellow brothers and sisters in Christ into their home for decades who need comfort. At the same time, they also received the curious and unsaved in their home, hoping that Christ would use them to bring their guests to a place of repentance and salvation through Christ.
Yet, before Phil’s conversion in the 70s, some would see Phil as an enemy of God and His people. There was no doubt that Phil was not only indifferent to the ways and truth of God, but he was openly and without remorse doing almost every evil act opposing God’s law and instruction.
So how did Phil go from being an unrepentant heathen in complete and total rebellion against God and His Word to becoming one of today’s leading disciples for Christ? The Blind movie takes us through the self-inflicted heartache, pain, struggles, and ultimate redemption of Phil and his family.
The Blind movie promises to encourage and remind anyone who’s ever fallen so far away from God and His truth that there’s always hope for everyone through Jesus Christ.
Regardless of how far someone may be from knowing Christ, there’s always hope to turn a wayward soul to our Lord, not because of who we are at any given time, but because of who God is and the love, mercy, and grace He’s afforded to all of us who repent and ask for His forgiveness.
