This movie is totally different than the first “Encounter” movie. This DVD was released in September 2012. The same actor, Bruce Marchiano, plays Jesus.
This movie has an explosive mix of personalities. A retiring drug smuggler, his drug addicted wife and his ruthless body guard find themselves trapped by a suspended DEA Special Agent, played by David A. R. White, at a Thai resort owned by a troubled former Wall Street banker and his wife, who mourns the loss of their only son in a devastating tsunami.
As the violence looms, a mysterious guest, claiming to be Jesus Christ, arrives to offer each of them one final chance at redemption in this inspiring, thought provoking thriller. Only faith can save them. Each of their hearts is broken as they silently cry out on the most desperate night of their lives. Jesus understands each of their struggles. Knowing their dire need he came to bring them all a message of hope in order to rescue them from the darkest corners of their own hearts. However, the decision to surrender and receive the freedom He offers is a choice each individual must make for themselves.
I liked the first “Encounter” movie better. This movie is not rated—but because of the material, I don’t think it is for smaller children. Teenagers would like it. This movie is more action-packed. It is still a good Christian movie because it deals with the forgiveness of sins and how Jesus is ready to accept you as you are when you are willing to accept Him as the Lord of your life. He talks about not being the cause of their son’s death, but because we live in the fallen world. He created Paradise, but because He gave man the dangerous gift of “free will”, death, murder, greed, hatred, war, disease, and disasters became a part of our world. It still had a great message. It was different than the first movie, but it was still good in a different way. The ending is worth waiting for.
John 14:6(NIV)—“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through Me.”
Romans 3:24(KJV)—Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 5:6-8(NLT)—6) Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the terrible anger of God comes upon all those who disobey him. 7) Don’t participate in the things these people do. 8) For though your hearts were once full of darkness, now you are full of light from the Lord, ad your behavior should show it!
Revelation 3:20(KJV)—Behold, I stand at the door, and knock; if any man hears my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.
