No matter what you are facing, there is a way out! Your troubles could be financial, legal, or relational. God seems to specialize in providing ways out of situations that appear impossible to us. Sometimes God places us in circumstances where we cannot figure out how to get out of them. We can try and rationalize finding a way out of where we are at, or we can begin to trust that God does have a plan.
No matter what you are facing it is not impossible or too big for God. We see things only from a human perspective, but God is not limited to our perspective. God sees the bigger picture and never works “inside the box” like we do. We are limited as humans and need the help of the Holy Spirit to make a way for us.
“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in dry wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:19, NLT)
There are times that God wants to do something new in our lives, and if we resist God’s ways we can forfeit what God is trying to do. As the above scripture states, God can create a pathway in the wilderness and rivers in the dry wasteland; but our part is to allow God to do what only He can do. We are not to try and figure out how to make a way out of impossible situations. The wilderness can be a place of wandering, where we have no direction and we are aimlessly trying to find our way out.
I have a family member who has literally lost everything, no car, no job, no money and is in a lot of financial debt. It looks like there is no way out of this situation. I am sure the enemy is telling my family member that following God’s ways will never work, and that you just need to do whatever you need to do to get money. BUT GOD! He is the God that can make a way in the wilderness. I honestly do not have the answers to how one can get a job with no car or how to pay off debt with no money coming in, but I know that we can “trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding; and in all our ways submit to Him, and He will make our paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6). The key to this scripture I believe is to trust the Lord with everything that we have even if it looks like there is no way and submit our lives to Him, then He will make our paths straight before us. It all starts with trusting God, not figuring it all out first.
We have all been in situations that seem literally impossible to find a way out. No matter what predicament that you are facing, God does have the solution. TRUST GOD out of your wilderness.
What impossible situation in your life do you need to trust God with?
Good morning Stephanie.
My wife and I are in a similar position to that of your family member. However, we have a newborn son of 7 weeks.
Our few possessions are in storage. We have no car. We have had to move in with my mom. Our money is running out fast as we contribute to the food bill.
We are applying for jobs on a daily basis, to no avail.
We do not want to be a burden to my mom. As a father and husband, I am also struggling with feelings of humiliation and a sense that I have failed my wife and son. Before she married me, my wife did not see all the loss and pain that she would have to endure. It really hurts when us men cannot provide our families with the basic necessities.
I totally affirm what you are saying, Edwin. It is engrained in men to be providers. We lose our self-esteem when we cannot be. All women need to understand this. What makes matters worse is when some women berate men because they are not able to provide as they desire. Although I have never been in the dire straights that you describe, I have had to be dependent upon other people nearly all of my life, and I am 66 years of age. For some people, no matter what they do to try to make things better, life seems to just not go right and they have more than their fair share of adversity. Thanks for sharing and for being so open about your need. I would like to keep in touch with you. John Clark, writer here at the Bottom Line, Ministries. You can contact me through this website. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Good afternoon Edwin,
Thank you for you for openness in discussing your struggles. How I can relate! What a humble man you must be to admit all of these struggles. Edwin, what I will say is that God is going to make a way for you and your family. Your time is coming! NEVER,EVER GIVE UP!You are precious and valuable in the sight of God and He is working ALL things out for good in your life. My family member that I wrote about is living with me and like you has no car, no job, no money BUT I reassure him daily that if he does his part God WILL open doors that no man can! God will do the same for you as you because He is not a respecter of persons. I am so sorry to hear about your feelings of humiliation and failure, but I can rest assure you those thoughts are originating from the enemy not God.
I would like to pray in agreement with you and believe God with you:
Father God you see Edwin’s heart and all of his needs. Would you Abba Father, Jehovah Jirah open doors for Edwin to have gainful employment. I will ask you boldly Father that employment will come soon with amazing benefits and more than enough to provide for his wife and his children. Father, I ask that you bless this family in abundance and bring sufficient provision to this family. Remove every lie the enemy has spoken to Edwin and replace with your thoughts Jesus. Lord, bless and take care of their infant and may their cupboards overflow with food. Jesus, we will believe together that you will provide. In Jesus name, amen
Edwin, I want you to stand on this scripture daily: “And My God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
God has you and He loves you!!! Please keep me posted! You are worthy and valuable because of WHOSE YOU ARE (a child of God) not what you do! God is your provider. As I have told my son, I don’t have it all figured out but we don’t have to, our job is to trust God and submit our cares and concerns to Him and allow God to do what we cannot do. God will come through for you! Keep asking God and don’t stop asking until you have your answer. Start thanking God now for the job and provision that is coming your way! We walk by FAITH, NOT SIGHT! By faith, start thanking God and SPEAK the WORD OF GOD over your life and family until the open door comes to you.
Blessings of the Lord be upon you today and forevermore. Please keep me posted! I am standing with you! I have NEVER seen God fail His people!
Stephanie
