Tranquil Days & Nights~

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Fear not the LORD is with you – How many times have we read that in the Bible?

Be of good courage -How many times have we read that in the Bible?

We can rest assured that tranquility in our days and nights is not something that is outside of the realm of reality. Tranquility is a feeling that can be a part of all we do, when we seek Him on a regular basis and trust Him fully.

There may be many things going on in the world today and obvious signs of what is to come. However, with God we have nothing to fear.

Make no mistake my friends, we are to encourage one another in the Word, and to lift and unify the love of Christ as we wait upon Him.

However, we should always take it with a grain of salt and recognize the “voices of fear mongers” who seek to weaken our resolve and crumple our very soul, with daily “taunts and screams of dismay” citing, “gloom and doom.”

God is a Father of LOVE, not fear.  He is the Author of peace not chaos.

Joshua 1:9  Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Are you confident and secure in His promises? What does Joshua 1:9 mean to you in this world today?

God is a Father of compassion and will not seek to destroy nor harm those who are with Him in spirit and heart. To be aware and to be discerning in all aspects as we go forward in this world, is a given. And we as Christians have the wherewithal to do so when we are confident and realize that He is in control.

In Matthew 10:16, we read that Jesus tells us to be as wise as the serpent but as gentle as a dove. To that end…we are to forewarn and to be forewarned…but in the “loving voice of God.”

The voice of God is soft, gentle and loving. It’s never demanding or vulgar.

Instead…it is a whisper, a gentle touch, a breeze of warmth…and reassurance of body, mind and soul.

John 10:27 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me…”

We know the ones who claim to be with us in spirit but seek to destroy or confuse us.

1 Peter 5:8   Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Realize that God has written the Bible for our protection and guidance, and with love in every single word! It’s our guide for living. It’s our manual for a peaceful existence.

The next time you hear a “shrill ugly cry of anger and discord” or “begin to quake inside from fear” remember– that is “not from God.”

God’s voice will be the gentle loving and caressing whisper that blankets your soul like a warm soothing balm.

Matthew 28:20…I am with you always…even until the end of the world.

Sssh…do you hear Him?

“Father, may I hear Your voice above all the shrill sounds of the world, thank You for Your provisions, protection and unwavering love, thank You for Your peace, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Sshh do you hear His still, gentle voice? Thank you for challenging us to listen out for this voice again and again
throughout the day. So hard to do, but also so imperative to successful Christian living. Beautiful writing, Camille.

  2. I just saw your article. Jennifer said it well! A short sweet gentle voice calling us to Himself. How profound that He cares for us!
May the Lord gives us the wisdom to listen out for Him in this world that screams out for our attention or advice.
May we become sensitive to His voice, listening out for Him instead of Him having to seek us like a sheep gone astray.
I just heard of a beautiful example from Pastor Lutzer that he said he recalled from Warren Weirsbe years ago.
Two sons are tempted to do something wrong. The first speaks up and says the he doesn’t want to do this because I don’t want to be hurt by dad should he find it out, The second says I don’t want to do that either because I don’t want to hurt dad.because I love him and don’t want to dishonor him.
A good example of the way our heart works. Depends on how we view God in our lives. Is He one we chose to listen to or is it the flesh that runs our life’s hoping not to get caught?

    • Hello Cora,

Thanks, once again. I really enjoyed the fine example from Warren Weirsbe!

A great illustration of how we respond, and act, is as individualized as our DNA.
God’s voice for me, is usually a gentle sprinkling of rain, most of the time.
Although, I’ve experienced the thunderous side as well. We all have.

The important thing to take away is “are we listening” and “responding according to His will?” And finally, how deep is our love for Him? For surely His love for us is unparalleled!

Cora, Have a beautiful, blessed day~
