Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
In end times, stagnation in our Father’s Word is becoming increasingly apparent. The Word doesn’t seem to be spoken in the way it should. And most people I know, are “flitting” from church-to-church hungering for the Word and His truth. They feel restless and want more.
Our Father’s words should be the foundation in which we set our feet upon-and one that elicits a productive barometer in which we base our lives and behave accordingly. The Word brings light and truth.
Psalm 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.”
In my experience the Word seems clear and concise for those who have an “ear to hear.” But completely obscure/unclear to those who “don’t have the ear to hear” – or the inclination to learn. Those who have no interest might seem to be on another pathway. They quite often go in another direction seeking activities for their own personal gain, or desires.
2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
The Father reveals Himself to us in numerous ways. And the Word is one significant way.
Throughout the land, we’re seeing an increase of “prosperity preachers” or those who are sorely lacking in what their roles are as “pastors.” To teach, to lead the flock-and to bring the lost sheep into the fold. To open the book and teach by example, the words of our Father. To bring forth a continuous wave of understanding by solidifying the word, passage by passage, verse by verse. Not a few lines from the Bible. Then the rest of the sermon about what “Uncle Charley did on his boat” – or what “Aunt Nancy said at Sunday’s dinner.”
Those looking for the “perfect church” are vastly disappointed. They may need to understand that Christ is in us. Christ is our perfect church. Accepting Him and surrendering to him, we are able to have an intimate relationship with Him. By staying rooted in Him and the Word every single day- not just part time- we will never be hungry. We will never thirst. We will never be alone. We will live forever. Amen!
John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
Are you hungry for His Word? Have you found peace in loving Him? Do you know Him and His Word? Do you seek Him in all that you do? Do you long for a clear path of understanding of His will for your life?
Open the Holy Word and find peace.
It’s a feeling that cannot be described!
“Father, my one desire is to serve You, love You, and embrace Your Word in all I do, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
