Have you ever seen a child who’s fascinated about a TV show or an action figure? I mean a child who walk, talk, and breathe their icon. That child will ensure that all homework and chores get done on time, so undivided attention can be spent on his/her passion. No matter how big a challenge, those children who are passionate about an interest, will face everyone … just so they can be engross with their desire. Christians ought to get that excited about winning souls for Christ.
We need to adopt that same “childlike passion” when it comes to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to a dying world. As Christians, we are easily satisfied with the sound of our voices when we talk about missionary work. It may sound good, but we rarely convert our words into action. What are we doing in our own little corner to make a difference on this vast mission field? Do we genuinely share in Christ’s tender longing for lost souls?
We shouldn’t play dumb. It’s time to admit that the inhabitants of this world will be in deep trouble come judgement day. Most humans, some voluntary and some involuntary, have joined with satanic agencies in an effort to make void the law of God. There is even a new church called “Greater Church of Lucifer.” We are fast becoming like the people in the days of Noah, who were swept away by flood waters, and like the people of Sodom and Gomorrah, who were destroyed by fire. Satan is busy distracting us from the reality of an unpleasant hell and the choice of an eternal salvation. As a result, there is high traffic on the broad road that leads to destruction and death.
Let us ignite our passion for soul saving instead of silently watching those around us drive to their doom. Let us do our part by proclaiming with power the message of a crucified and risen Savior. Let us be untiring and earnest in our efforts to save souls. People are dying all around us, unwarned and unsaved, ignorant of the sacrifice Jesus had made to give them a chance of eternal life. I am just as guilty for not doing my part in becoming the best witness, I can be … but I’m willing to make a fresh start.
How about you? How will start your ministry of soul saving today?
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” (1 Peter 3:15)
