I have a question…With church and personal evangelism nearly nonexistent and no signs of Revival, leaving family and church altars dry and empty…Who will lead these children to Christ?…..Will they have a Bible Church to disciple them? …Who will tell them about Jesus? Who? ~ Pastor Timothy Parker
“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost.” — 2 Corinthians 4:3
Can a fireman stand safely and comfortably at a distance while men, women, and children are consumed by the flames as a family’s house burns? Can a physician stand at his patient’s bedside holding his patient’s hand while a deadly disease ravages his body and takes his mind never telling him that he has had the cure from the beginning?
We have hidden Christ’s light under a bushel by preaching a false gospel that never mentions man’s problem (sin), the consequence (God’s eternal wrath and judgment), and the only cure (Jesus Christ). We hold in our hearts the only message that will save our world. It is “THE WORD”! We are the envy of the angels! God’s favor rests upon us and devils fear us!
In the education of our children, the governing of our nation, and the shepherding of our churches, God’s people have become okay with ordinary never expecting God’s extraordinary! Our utmost and our best is given to all manner of worldly things, while our very least, or none at all, is given to “The Most High.” His judgment we are now seeing! (Isaiah 30:27-30) Our hearts must burn with jealousy again for our Lord!
I can imagine a thousand Ambassadors of the One Crucified; a thousand visionaries persuaded; a thousand impassioned sheep rejoicing they are about to be slaughtered!
The Lord rained down like fire on Sodom and Gomorrah. Like cloven tongues of fire, His Spirit rested on each of those at Pentecost. Oh, Lord! Please set the seminaries on fire, for they churn out non-impassioned bond-servants! Set the Church on fire, for they seek no revival at all! Set all church members on fire, for they burn hot neither for good nor evil! Set the preacher on fire, for his heart has turned cold as ice “For our God is a consuming fire”!
I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. — 1 Corinthians 1:10
Imagine a thousand voices having been baptized in the fire of His Holy Spirit and joining our Savior as one in His fight against sin that He Himself has already won! Great is the struggle that is taking place every second over a man’s soul! We need a holy fire! What we have now is error! We can correct the latter, but we cannot create the former!
Let Christ’s Spirit light you on fire with His devouring flame of righteousness! Imagine yourselves like a dog struggling at the leash to be let loose; like a dam ready to burst from the water that overflows it; like a great balloon filling with “a fresh wind” of revival ever expanding to then finally explode and blow over God’s people constraining them to become “zealous in good works!”
Imagine yourselves making hot the hearts of cold men after touching your tongues to the hot coals of jealousy for only Jesus! Imagine yourselves in a spirit of mourning with a thousand others also in mourning seeking your own Pentecost and desiring it at any cost! (Jeremiah 9:1)
This holy fire will not come from the friction we now see between God’s elect. This fire will not be started by the strange fires set by the many strangers we see within and without! Let us not be afraid of the noise that comes from the burning flames of both God’s anger and mercy any longer! Let us not fear anymore the flames of jealousy that we see in the hearts of those that burn hot for His Son!
Imagine reaching beyond ordinary and dreaming of an extra-ordinary visitation from God. It will be more than we could ever imagine or dream!
What we can imagine in our hearts is what we shall speak to others! Those who can imagine, devise or labor for, peace; they will cause joy in others by speaking the the name of Christ. Devise to cause peace to dwell in men rather than cause just an emotional feeling of joy with our programs and strategies. Those who can imagine it, His “joy attends them” and “They shall be glad.”
I encourage you to never tire my friends of doing “good works” to cause it!
Imagine His joy spreading a fresh wind of grace to blow over our land! It will be a friendly fire of His anointing! His all consuming fire will cause us to labor as one to sow together His “peace on earth and good will towards men” imagining the harvest of souls we shall be reaping! (Jeremiah 31:13).
Can you imagine it? A thousand “counsellors of peace” filled with His joy! We will only do it when we can imagine it! (Proverbs 12:20-21).
What are you going to do to imagine it? What good works can you do to cause it?
