Obedience: Experiencing Blessings From Above

It’s easy enough to get caught up in the daily activities of the “world” — but when we bypass the “voice of God” and disregard His Word, we will be utterly dismayed by the consequences.  Blessings won’t flow or cover us with joy, we will be stifled in our life and unable to reap the rewards He so truly wants for every single one of us.

He tells us of His promises throughout the Bible. Blessings and cursing’s in the Old Testament are plentiful. Some individuals may say, “But Jesus is in the New Testament and the Old doesn’t apply” –this only true for the blood ordinance(s) and sacrifices.  Jesus Christ became the propitiation for our ugly sin. He took it upon Himself to take away the sin of the world and His blood covered us and washed us clean. The innocent unblemished Lamb. The sacrificial Lamb – there is no need for the old blood ordinances anymore.

Thank You Jesus!

However, His commandments of Old still apply.  It is still a crime to “steal” — still is a crime to “murder” so on and so forth.  And the Lord still wants us to follow Him and His commandments, and His ways in order for us to be blessed.

He still wants our love, He still wants us to listen to His Voice, which is His Word. He still wants us to follow his Doctrine. That never grows old, nor is it antiquated in terms of such.

At the end of this article will be the entirety of the “Blessings in Deuteronomy” — and when you see “other gods” realize that today- it can mean not only “following a false god” and bowing down to it.  But it can mean anything that takes us away from worshipping and loving Him and Him alone.

For some their “luxury car” might be their “idol” some “their computer” others, it may be their cell phone and tweets.  It’s anything that occupies your mind and heart more than the Word and voice of God, thereby cutting into valuable time with Him. He wants a relationship with us.  To ignore and put our time and efforts into worldly things can be costly in terms of zest and true Life.

  • His Word is Life.
  • Blessings from above is Life.
  • Jesus is Life everlasting.

Be therefore diligent in quests as we seek His face and walk His path of righteousness. Seek His favor by loving Him in kind, following His Word, and following the Doctrine.  Be aware of false doctrine of men that make void the word of God. Instead, grasp, embrace, and stand on His Word and His amazing promises.

When His children stand on His Word and embrace His promises-it’ll be the difference of a life filled with peace and light. Versus a life of chaos and darkness!

Let the Light of Jesus Christ shine from within to without and get ready to experience blessings from above when you follow Him and Him alone, not the world!  Are you following Him daily in your walk of life? Do you have any idols in your life today? And if so – how can you erase them from your life to dedicate your time and thoughts on the LORD?

“Father, may I always embrace Your love and Your Word, may I follow You exclusively and no one else, may I be a guided servant waiting for Your command, and Your instructions on the path or road I take, may I honor You all the days of my life, and may I be witness to Your love and glory in all I do, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Blessings on Obedience

Deuteronomy 28:1-14 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways.

10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee.

11 And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

12 The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

13 And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
