What does it really mean to be “on fire” for Jesus Christ? Not just lukewarm or cold but on fire? You see Jesus Christ is always on fire for us. His commitment never wanes but stays red hot all the time. Why? His unconditional love for us keeps Him red hot with passion for His own. The Lord will still love us even if we are lukewarm or cold. He prefers us to be hot, white hot, like lightening. See how strongly He says it in Revelation 3:16:
“So, because you are lukewarm–neither hot nor cold–I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”
Very strong words the Lord uses here. He is about to spit us out of His mouth because we are in a lukewarm state not hot or cold. Do we need to ask the gracious Lord to renew our passion for Him? Granted His love will never change or grow cold toward us no matter what spiritual state we find ourselves in. The best place we can be in the Lord is to be on fire for Him. He is to be number 1 in our daily lives and in our state of affairs.
The world will stand up and take notice of our lives when we are unconditionally sold out for Jesus Christ. Think what it would be like to have revival breakout everywhere we went. People being saved, healed, restored and brought back to a whole relationship with the living Christ. His glory would shine brightly out of us; flooding into all the dark crevices of this very lost and dark world. Best of all Jesus would receive all the glory and honor from our sold out lives. Our prayers would change nations and our words change people with that red hot fire for Jesus pouring out of us. The devil would be doing damage control the world over if the church of Jesus Christ returned to their first love. Jesus Christ is calling the international church to return to their first love-Him.
Look up Acts: 2 sometime and see what the Holy Spirit did through Peter. He was a walking human fireball for Christ. Yes earlier He denied Jesus three times but Jesus restored Him. Peter preached one of the greatest sermons in the New Testament. The power of God pierced 3 thousand hearts instantly that glorious day and the Kingdom of God received a few thousand people into its ranks on Pentecost day. I say all this to let it be known that the devil cannot stop a church ablaze for the Lord. It will be an unstoppable force in this world.
To what degree are you on fire for Jesus today?
