Our Journey In Life: Walking In Thanks To The LORD

Walking in Thanks to God Through All Times

Introduction

Life is a journey filled with peaks and valleys, moments of joy and sorrow, triumphs and trials. As believers, we are called to walk in gratitude to God through all these times, recognizing His hand in every aspect of our lives. We are to always seek Him in all we do. We are to be obedient to Him in His will and purpose for our lives, and we are to remain faithful to Him all the days of our lives.

 A Journey of Gratitude

Sarah was a woman of faith who experienced both the highs and lows of life. She grew up in a loving family, always taught to trust in God’s plan. As she matured, she faced numerous challenges, including the loss of her job and the passing of a close family member. Despite these hardships, Sarah remained steadfast in her faith, continually giving thanks to God.

During her times of prosperity, Sarah would often reflect on Psalm 100:4, “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” She understood that gratitude was not just for the good times but also for the difficult moments. When she faced trials, she found solace in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

Sarah’s unwavering gratitude was a testament to her deep trust in God’s sovereignty. She believed that every situation, whether good or bad, was an opportunity to grow closer to Him. Her story is a powerful reminder that walking in thanks to God is a continuous journey, one that requires faith and perseverance.

Reflective Questions

  1. How do you express gratitude to God during challenging times?
  2. What scriptures do you turn to for comfort and encouragement?
  3. How can you cultivate a heart of thankfulness in your daily life?

Moral Thoughts to Ponder

Walking in gratitude to God through all times teaches us humility and dependence on Him. It reminds us that our circumstances do not define us, but our specific response to them does. By maintaining a thankful heart, we acknowledge God’s presence and provision in every aspect of our lives. This attitude not only strengthens our faith but also inspires those around us to seek a deeper relationship with God. To engage with Him on a higher realm in all that we do. Also to trust His provisions and His interaction over our lives and circumstances every single second of the day and night, all the days of our lives.

Supportive Scriptures:

These verses remind us to present our requests to God with thanksgiving, promising peace that transcends understanding, much like the peace Sarah experienced.

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

This verse encourages us to let God’s peace rule in our hearts and to be thankful, aligning with Sarah’s attitude of gratitude.

Psalm 9:1 I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

1 Chronicles 16:34 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

This scripture underscores the enduring goodness and mercy of God, which Sarah trusted in during her trials.

These verses provide a strong biblical foundation for the story of Sarah and the theme of walking in gratitude to God through all times. They serve as reminders of the importance of maintaining a thankful heart and trusting in God’s plan.

 Meditative Thought Takeaway

As you go about your day, take a moment to reflect on the blessings in your life, both big and small. Remember that gratitude is a powerful tool that can transform your perspective and draw you closer to God. Let Psalm 118:24 resonate in your heart: “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

“Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude, and unconditional love for You. We would like to thank You for Your unwavering love and faithfulness. Help us to remember to give thanks in all circumstances, knowing that You are completely and full in control. Strengthen our faith and guide us through both the joyous and challenging times. May our lives be a testament to Your goodness and grace. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.”

May the LORD and His Word and voice inspire us to walk in gratitude to Him through all times, good and bad…
