A key component in having a relationship with Christ is obtaining a line of prayerful defense. A sister in the Lord shared with me a great visual of a wagon wheel representing prayer connections and spiritual maturity to people in life. Imagine the spokes of a wagon wheel. We represent the center spokes while the two spokes that are towards the ground stand for our friends who are seeking us for prayer because they are in the beginnings of their Christian walk. Coming out of the middle on either side are spokes representing two people who are spiritually as mature as we are. The last two spokes, pointing towards the top are two whom we seek for guidance in our own walk with Christ. It is these people who are at the top along with others in the middle whom I would call prayer warriors.
What is a prayer warrior? They are someone you can text or call in the middle of the night and they will awaken from their restful slumber to answer your prayer request. They are the ones whom you can send a simple message “Pray for me, now!” and no questions are asked. Instead, their trust is in God alone who knows what the direction of the prayer is and their hearts will be led down the correct path of prayer.
A prayer warrior is so crucial in your walk with Christ. They not only hold you accountable, but they also are in tune with the Spirit of God to know what the need is that is to be covered.
There are many times in my life that I know I have been pulled out of a downward spiral all because my warrior was willing to be obedient to the Spirit and pray for me. I have also had times when I would receive a gentle message “Praying for you” from my sister because they just had such a burden that something was up, and all they could do was pray.
I recall this past summer when I was in desperate need of my warriors for two days, but our campground had limited reception and so I was unable to send out my SOS. However, one sister came through. At the time, we were hundreds of miles apart, no communication, and all she had was a deep burden for two days to pray for me.
When I informed her about the impact she made, and the changes that took place, not only was I blessed to see her reaction, but she too was blessed in assurance in knowing that her prayers were answered.
God has given us a body of believers to tap in to including access to His divine power through prayer, and prayer warrior should be in the first line of defense in your walk with Christ in order to help defeat the enemy.
Amen and praise the Lord!
