Last weekend, my mom mentioned a Bible verse that intrigued me. She said it is the glory of God to conceal a matter and the glory of kings to discover a matter. (Proverbs 25:2)
This made me recognize and appreciate all of the latent miracles that have been discovered and that will be discovered. A secular mindset will uphold science as evidence against God. This verse says that real science is the pursuit of discovering what God has already created, and that we are meant to be scientists (of all sorts). Our discoveries glorify Him!
I believe that God delights in his human creation uncovering the secrets of the universe He made, from the molecular discoveries of biology to the cosmic discoveries of astronomy. The Bible says that all of creation attests to the excellence of its Creator. (Romans 1:20) Everything confirms the intelligence of God—His power, order and intricacies. The mathematical and aesthetic perfection of the golden spiral is not happenstance, a serendipitous discovery by a brilliant scholar. It is God, who also calls us His masterpieces.
Teen, you are God’s masterpiece. You may think that’s a lie because of the mess that surrounds you, or the way you feel about yourself. But it’s true. He sees you for who you really are—fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14)—and He sent Jesus to redeem you. He can use any mess to shape you and cause you to fulfill the purpose He established for you. (Psalm 138:8) Ephesians 2:10 says that He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.
Are you in Christ Jesus? If not, join the family! God’s family of sons and daughters from all tribes and tongues will reign forever and His Kingdom is coming soon. God wants everyone to be saved. Hell is real and He doesn’t want you to go there. You are already forgiven; you just need to repent and receive His forgiveness.
Part of your responsibility on earth is to discover things about yourself–your gifts, and your eternal purpose. Discover who you are through the Word of God. Pray for God to lead you and bring you opportunities, and then believe Him to do it. Do not be afraid to try things and experiment (excluding sex, drugs, and alcohol, of course).
What if you’re an amazing artist? How will you know that you’re good at football unless you try out? Maybe you don’t make the team and you feel bad about yourself. Move on! Don’t expect to be good at everything. You weren’t meant to be. Take lessons of all kinds to see what you like to do and then spend time developing skills in those areas. Your life matters and you were born for a reason. God is your best resource and He loves you a lot. Trust Him with your life and ask Him to help you find your gifts because they’re already in you, waiting to be found.
I love that Proverb. Amazing to think that WE are kings, according to scripture!
It is amazing, and I think our spiritual bodies will be beyond our imagining!
