God has given some members of the Body of Christ the, gift of prophecy, to be used for the expansion of God’s Kingdom, for the unity in the Spirit, to edify one another and to help bring believers into a mature relationship in Jesus Christ. God is using prophecy in the earth today to encourage His people worldwide. I hope the following verses will encourage you to step out in faith and begin to prophesy as the Lord leads you:
“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith…” Romans 12:6
“to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy…“ I Corinthians 12:10
Do you know if you have the gift of prophecy? You can know if God has deposited that gift within you. James 1:17 says:” Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” If God has given you the, gift of prophecy, it will flow supernaturally without any effort, The power, the anointing comes from the Holy Spirit.
Have you ever been praising God and His Spirit comes to rest on you; He fills your mind with words, images and knowledge that you could not possibly know on your own? Does the church body you are worshiping with become silent in God’s glory and presence? These words, images and knowledge concern the present or they could concern the future. God impresses you to share His message with the body and you share it and His peace fills you with the assurance that He given you the message.
Do you find yourself praying for someone and all of a sudden images and events and details of their life come pouring into your mind and spirit? You sense the Lord is giving these revelations and you share these things with that person. They start to cry or they stare at you in astonishment; they gasp “How did you know these things?” “Yes, all you said is true.” This supernatural ministry happens frequently to you and you feel peaceful moving in this type of service ask the Lord if he is moving you in the gift of prophecy.
You may be talking with someone or texting someone. You are ministering to one another. You start talking to them about an issue at work or a decision they are facing or they are considering marrying someone you describe that issue, decision or person in detail. You knew nothing about that issue, decision or person until that moment. “How do you know these things they ask or text in shock!” “The Lord just shared these things with me to comfort you, and to let you know He knows all about these circumstances and He wants me to agree in prayer with you .” Pray about being used in the gift of prophecy.
Is Jesus calling you to operate in the gift of prophecy?
