… will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1
What protection a believer finds in the shadow of the Almighty. Think of it terms of God being our supernatural shadow that protects us against the wiles of the devil and the storms of life. There is no greater protector for our well-being than the Father. He is faithful to keep that which we have entrusted to Him unto the day of Christ, Jesus.
He promised to never leave us or forsake us and God cannot lie about His Word. Once He gives that word it is settled in creation for all eternity. God will never violate His covenant of protection; he has made with us.
We can gain such a confidence in the trust of God that we can rest in His shadow no matter what comes our way. “Immanuel” means God is with us. Resting in the shadow of the Almighty means that God is right there with us in any circumstance we are walking through. I would not want anyone other than God on my team when things get really rough. We follow God in His shadow He will lead us right through the most adverse circumstances of life.
Isaiah 26:3 notes:
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
Here is the key to resting in the shadow of the Almighty – trust. God is able to supernaturally keep us when we keep our minds fixed on His ability to protect us not our own.
