Why Carry the Load?

Yes, why carry the loads of life when Jesus invites us to bring them to Him? Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

When we try to carry our loads in our human strength, it cannot be done sufficiently. Jesus said to come to Him and He will give us rest if we trust Him enough to carry our burdens for us. We have things weighing heavily on our minds that we were not designed to try and solve outside of God’s help. Jesus said His burden was light and His yoke easy. Why? He has the ability to take life’s struggles off us and carry them Himself. He promises to give us rest. He has a heart that is gentle and humble.

He loves each and everyone one of us so much; He will carry our loads for us. His shoulders are more than capable to handle the burdens of every person in the world. Imagine the Lord can carry the burdens of billions of people and He won’t even work up a sweat? He is God!

You know He knows all the struggles we face anyway. He knows the outcome before it manifests. He knows how to solve any burden we carry in life. Don’t we want His supernatural peace in the midst of life’s storms? He who walked on the water can surely carry our burdens for us. He guarantees us that if we come to Him with our burdens. He will give us rest.

The car breaks down, the finances fall through the bottom of the house and our spouse files for divorce. Just when we think things cannot get any worse. We are diagnosed with a terminal illness. I am not being stereotypical here. What I’m saying is no matter what trials we are walking through. Jesus can carry us through to victory on any issue we face.

Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” Psalm 55:22

It cannot be said any clearer than Psalm 55:22 says it!

What burdens are you carrying in this life?
