You Are My Four Seasons

Ezekiel 34:26  And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.

Seasons come and seasons go. Right now, I am watching summer in my rear-view mirror as it culminates to a close very soon. Autumn is fast approaching and about to make an appearance not only in weather patterns, and time change; but in the glorious artistry, as evidenced by the resplendent colors of the lofty trees.  Yes, the various shades of orange, gold, yellow and my favorite, deep red, which can be seen all across New England. It is a sight to behold and reminiscent of the Master above. It is His calling card beauty and splendor.

Psalm 145:5 I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, And on Your wondrous works.

Seasons come and go. But of a certainty God is with us for ALL SEASONS. He is never in our rear-view mirror. He is never a faded image passing into the next. He instead is a constant source within all seasons. He is the hand that paints the trees in majestic patterns.  He is the breath that brings the snowflakes dancing softly to the ground, blanketing the landscape in pure awesome beauty. He is the resurgence of flowers and life in the spring as the crocus and tulips bear their faces and awaken from the earth. And He is the warmth of summer that creates shimmering sunrises and sunsets along the oceans and walkways.

Yes, God is the glory in all things. He is the main attraction in all things. He is the love source in finery and simple things.

As I look out into my yard enjoying the waning days of summer, I give special thanks for another summer I’ve witnessed. And I give thanks for a new season coming at us. For those of you who don’t have four seasons, it doesn’t matter. It’s all the same.  God is the reason for any season. Those that have seasons. And for those who have one, two or none…He is the reason for any season.

Psalm 9:66 Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

The magnitude of His Omnipotence and grace is incomprehensible to some. It is hard to fathom even for those of deep driven faith. To know He loves us unconditionally is an appeal and a comfort to my mind, heart, body and soul. Wrapped in the splendor of Him.

Do you embrace His Presence in all things? Do you see the beauty created by His hands? All I know is I’m holding on to summer a little while longer, if you don’t mind.  However, I’m holding on to my LORD for all seasons, and NEVER letting go!

“Father, thank You for another season and I thank You for never leaving me in any season, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

  1. Very beautifully stated.
All the joys and splendor we view year after year, rejoicing in the changes He brings forth to our delight in His ways.

I recall sermons from time to time as well with a similar message and it pertains to mankind. It is about the different seasons of our lives.

I am just starting my thoughts here on this topic:

The birth of a baby, the seed of a man, as yet is hidden in the womb and growing for the time it springs forth with a new breath of life.
The rays of light and fruit bearing as they grow and mature into vibrant youthful adults until summer sets.
The autumn of our lives as we begin reversing our course but hopefully shows forth the beauty the Lord has put in our lives for His glory.
And now the time in which we are nearing the last season of living but with the snowy hair we can still bear the truths for the next generation to hear.
