If you are a believer in the God of the Bible, opposition will come. It will come in one form or another but it’s an ever present reality. The Bible is clear on this. Persecutions then logically follow.
2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
Persecution presupposes opposition. We believers stand opposed to worldly ideologies that seek to pervert and mock God and His word. The way we live and stand for God will draw out the wicked unbelievers. So we must stand firm, rooted and grounded in the word of God.
Hebrews 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Too many times in this day and age we see Christians capitulating on issues that the Bible is clear on. We see supposed Christians who oppose abortion in theory but do nothing to fight for our pre-born neighbors. Some will say they love the Church even but fail to do anything to serve it or it’s people. Fear of opposition leaves many Christians cowering at even the thought of standing for something the Bible is clear on. This is a fear of man not God.
Recently a young man I know came up against a little opposition. A situation arose and a decision was made by the young man. A well thought out response was written and delivered. Standing on biblical principles he was sure of his response and never waivered when opposition hit. This is one redeeming story for his generation and his family. In a time where it seems most young people are apathetic to the world and happenings around them it’s refreshing to see one that stands firm against opposition and unapologetically for the Words of God.
