Are you tired of sitting inside and looking at the lack of coloration all around you? With the decline in gas prices, why not fan the embers of adventure into flame and start planning that family vacation?
God has given us so many beautiful places to see, why not plan to take a look. Here are just a few ideas to get started.
Wagoners Out West
Why not map out a route taking your family as far west as Yellowstone? There are so many wonders for the eye to see. Not only is viewing wildlife an event on its own, but so is the action packed volcanic mud baths, sulfur hot springs, and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Other western locations include The Oregon Trail, The Mile High City, or the front range of the Rocky Mountains. The sights and sounds are ones your family will never forget.
Highway of History
There are several opportunities to venture towards when heading eastward past the Midwest. Key places to trek on include the path of the Civil War, The Trail of Tears, or even the Underground Railroad. Venture towards the coast and take a quick dip in the ocean, visit the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, stand on the landing ground of the Mayflower, or even recapture the moments of freedom by viewing the Liberty Bell. Whatever eastern path you take, history will be abounding in every corner.
Marvels of the Midwest
An adventure into the middle of the states is a great way to refresh from the busyness of life. Explore the trek of Louis and Clark, climb the second tallest building in the United States, or ride along side the adventures of Tom Sawyer. Kayak, sail, or just coast around the Great Lakes. Take in a Cubs, Cardinals, Royals, or Twins game. Reel in fresh walleye, catfish, bass, or blue gills and relax by the campfire. For an adventure that captures the beauty of Midwest living and neighbors helping neighbors, head to the center of the states.
Whatever direction you decide to drive or fly towards, be sure to take the time to enjoy the splendor that God has surrounded us with here on earth.
“I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, And on Your wondrous works. (Psalm 145:5)
So, where will you go on vacation this year? We would love to hear where you are headed on your vacation adventure.
