Never Forgotten:Engraved On His Palms

Have you ever felt forgotten by God? You may have believed that you were the only one to feel this way.  But for those of us who have given our lives to Him, God promises He will never forget us—for we are engraved on the Palms of His Hands. Isaiah 49:16 is God’s beautiful illustration of His love and care, and the truth that we will always be His: Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. (KJV)

I had never selected the words that would forever be engraved on  someone’s headstone.  But after my dad passed away, my sister, daughter and I sat with a memorialist, selecting  final words. And  though part of Dad will always be alive in his children, his grandchildren—and even his great-grandchildren, the words on this stone are  all the casual visitor to the cemetery will know of his time on earth. For our family, this memorial  brings peace in our sadness, and something lasting to show that our dad lived,  and that he has not been forgotten by those who love him.

If you have accepted Christ into your heart and life, putting your trust in Him, then you belong to God. Your name has been engraved in the Palm of His Hand forever, and all of the promises in His Word are yours. Sometimes, we may feel forgotten in this world. But we must believe the truth that we are continually before Him, that He sees us and our circumstance. How can you put your trust in Him today, knowing that He will never forget you?
