Political Evil vs The Promised Land

‘You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.’  Psalm 91: 13 (NIV)

Washington, D.C., Ramallah, Baghdad, Moscow…these capital cities are among the most well-known in the world.  And they are also the centers of violence, greed, corruption, and evil.  I see them as dens of ‘political evil’.

Why would I include Washington, D.C. in the mix?  Because at this present time Washington, D.C., is far and away the most harmful of all to the Promised Land, Israel.  While the United States of America has long been a champion and top defender of Israel’s right to exist, and to claim their God-given homeland, the current government in power, the Obama Administration, has done everything but come right out and say to these other cities and their respective countries, ‘Go take Israel!’

Our capital is the most harmful, the biggest threat, because of the swift change in allegiance.  We once were Israel’s number one ally, the true friend, the one who would stand with them.  But today, our leaders are make charges that Israel is terrorizing and making war against Palestine, killing the innocents.   Israel is ‘purposefully’ bombing civilian targets, and its goal is to cause a constant state of terror for Palestine’s people.  Hamas, the controlling party in Palestine, is a known terrorist organization, famous for continually lobbing bombs and missiles all over Israel.  Yet it is Israel, because it chooses to fight back to protect and keep its own land, who is now the terrorist nation.

Our government is fueled by outspoken liberals who stand for the terrorist organizations not only in Palestine, but in many countries.  They find it preferable to support those whose main purpose is to bring terror upon innocents, to destroy peace-loving nations.  Why is this?  It’s because the enemy named satan has been allowed to creep in like the evil serpent he is, to ‘…steal and kill and destroy;’  John: 10:10 (NIV).

Can we change the direction our country is moving in?  Can we make a difference for peace in this world?  Is this the end times?  And even if it is, does that mean we stop fighting against evil where we see it?

The answer is yes, we can have an influence in our country’s momentum.  We can also impact peace.  And it may be that this is not the will of God, to completely diffuse the situations of evil, if it is the end times.  But as Christians, we must agree to continue the fight.  We can pray, we can speak, we can show others how to combat evil with the goodness, the righteousness of Christ.  If we will stand upon the will of God, and on the example of Jesus Christ, then even as the world continues its downward spiral, those pockets of darkness may be changed into pockets of light.  Darkness cannot exist where there is light.  Israel has a right to see it’s light continue to burn.

‘You are the light of the world.  A city on a hill cannot be hidden.’  Matthew 5:14 (NIV).

Blessings!

  1. Psalms 122: 6,7 states, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May they prosper who love you.’
This was a Jewish state when this was written. It was given by God to Abraham and his children. Though Abraham had a child by a slave woman named Hagar, God rejected this child because He said that it would be through Abraham’s wife Sarah that the promise would be passed on. Genesis 21:12 it tells about the incident where Abraham was told to send the bondwoman Hagar and her son away which was painful to Abraham but God said to him, ‘ whatever Sarah has said to you, listen to her voice, for in Issac your seed shall be called.”
After Hagar was banished along with Ishmael from the camp, God came to Abraham and said, ‘Take now your son, your only son Issac, whom you love and go to the land of Moriah….’
We see that the inheritance of this land that God gave to Abraham was to be passed down through Issac’s children which is the land for the Jews, not for the children of Ishmael. They have been in opposition all these centuries. God is the one who owns all that He has made and only He has the authority to gift it to whomever He chooses. We can’t fight against God and win. Any nation that doesn’t honor God and His decisions is in grave danger.
Get on God side and do what He says. Support the Jewish state of Israel. Pray that our leaders will do the same.
