An Unexpected Encounter –Arranged By God!
Life often brings us face-to-face with people who we haven’t spoken with in months, or years-and some of these individuals may be someone who we’ve had a misunderstanding with and tossed out some hurtful words. These encounters can be challenging, but they also offer opportunities for healing and growth. Let’s explore a personal experience of meeting someone with whom I had a painful misunderstanding. Through prayer and Divine guidance, this unexpected-yet delightfully welcome encounter transformed into a moment of forgiveness and reconciliation for us both.
The Encounter
After fervently praying for a long-lost friend in which was a huge misunderstanding. I unexpectedly met them. The gross misunderstanding from our past was exactly where it should be – it was in the past. And as soon as I saw the beloved friend my heart and spirit were moved, and I was so happy to see her. Without hesitation, I exclaimed “wow-you look fabulous! You look happy! Are you okay? So good to see you! I was feeling an overwhelming sense of peace and release.
Scriptural Foundation
The Bible teaches us about the power of forgiveness and divine appointments. In Matthew 18:21-22 Jesus tells Peter, “I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.” This scripture reminds us of the boundless nature of forgiveness. Additionally, Proverbs 16:9 states, “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.” This verse underscores the belief that our encounters are not coincidental but orchestrated by God for a purpose.
Divine Appointments
Meeting someone at a specific time and place, especially after praying for them, is a testament to God’s intricate plan. These moments are designed to teach us lessons, heal wounds, and strengthen our faith. They remind us that God is always at work in our lives, guiding us towards reconciliation and peace.
The Moral of Forgiveness
Forgiveness is a powerful act that liberates both the forgiver and the forgiven. It allows us to let go and embrace healing. When we forgive, we reflect God’s love and mercy, fostering a spirit of unity and compassion. This encounter taught me that holding onto grudges only weighs down the spirit, while forgiveness brings freedom and joy.

As I reflect on this experience, I am filled with gratitude for this encounter designed by God. The peace that My spirit feels lighter, and I am thankful for the Divine guidance that brought us back in each other’s lives. It is a reminder that God is always with us, leading us towards peace and reconciliation, especially from misunderstandings between two good friends.
