Jeremiah 31:3(NIV)—The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.
There are not many people who keep coming back after they have been rejected over and over again. But His true, deep and everlasting love keeps drawing people back to Him. God loves Israel like that. They are His chosen people. He wants to give them the very best, if they would let Him. He promised them that He would restore them and rebuild their land. This restoration will include all people that love and trust Him. It came true. In 1948, His people went back to Israel and the land flourished with vineyards and farmlands.
God never changes. He still loves His chosen people of Israel. He also loves all the Gentiles, too. (If they are not Jews, they are called Gentiles). He promises us He will never leave nor forsake us. He means it. His Word shows us He is consistently the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. After all the words of warning about sin and its consequences, this reminder of God’s magnificent love is a breath of fresh air. Look carefully and see him lovingly drawing us toward Himself. We don’t need to be afraid or think of God with dread. He loves us more than anyone can possibly love anyone.
God put us here for His pleasure not for condemning. His whole creation is in our reach. God didn’t create us to kill one another or hate each other. While this is a fallen world, we will have evil all around us. When Jesus returns we will live in harmony, and there will only be good will and peace to enjoy. But only for those who love God with all their heart, mind and soul will be rewarded with the presence of our Lord, Jesus.
When God gave us His Son, He gave hope, joy, mercy, love, and redemption to each and every one of us. All we have to do is believe in Jesus, accept Him in our life and follow Him. Everyone is invited, but only a few will choose to come to Him. Will you be one of His chosen few? The more people we can attract to God, the more people He will be able draw to Himself.
He is knocking at your door, will you answer it or wait until He walks away. There will be a time when He will quit knocking at the door of your heart. It will be too late for you then because you have died without Him. That wasn’t what He wanted for you, but you chose to not accept Him into your life. Even though He was inviting you to be saved, you denied Him; and He has no other choice but to let you go. He has been rejected all of His life, that is why He will do anything for the ones who love and accept Him.
Matthew 22:14(NKJV)—Jesus said, “For many are called but few are chosen.”
Powerful words of Truth. Thanks Susan. 🙂
