Changing Tides & Eons

In the ebb and flow of time, the world does sway,
With elections near, hearts in dismay.
Yet, in the chaos, a truth we find,
God’s sovereign hand, ever kind.

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee,” He doth say,
“Be not dismayed; for I am thy God,” each day.
For in His hand, the soul of every living thing,
And the breath of all mankind, He doth bring.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart,” we are told,
“Lean not unto thine own understanding,” be bold.
For His counsel shall stand, His purpose prevail,
In the midst of uncertainty, His love will not fail.

“Take therefore no thought for the morrow,” He declares,
“Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof,” He cares.
For the kingdom is the LORD’s, He governs all,
In His perfect plan, we shall not fall.

“Be still, and know that I am God,” He commands,
“I will be exalted among the heathen,” in all lands.
For His ways are higher, His thoughts profound,
In His eternal wisdom, true peace is found.

“Cast thy burden upon the LORD,” He will sustain,
“He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved,” in pain.
For His mercy is everlasting, His truth endures,
In His loving arms, our soul secures.

O Lord, in these times of change and strife,
Grant us peace and guide our life.
May we trust in Your divine control,
And find comfort for our weary soul.
