Sometimes in our daily routines,
we put aside the most important thing.
The very things that replace His time,
when we become busy and don’t prioritize.
As God’s Word begins to take a back seat,
we’re signaling the enemy, that we’re weak.
We shouldn’t forget Who’s to be First in our lives,
and replace Him with agenda – causing strife.
Stubborn as we oftentimes tend to always be,
we find ourselves as “fair game” for the enemy.
Putting the Lord first before we start our day,
makes all the difference before we go our way.
His presence is evident as our day quickly goes by,
leaving us wondering and asking ourselves, “Why?”
“Why did I push Him aside for the time being,
leaving my God-given armor without speaking?”
Without condemnation I heard His Spirit say,
“It’s so easy for our schedules to get in His way.”
“Please forgive me Lord and help me each day,
to remember You come first before going my way.”
Without the Lord we are unable to do anything (John 15:5),
especially when we’re representing Him as a testimony.
Testifying to others of what He’s done in our lives,
and how He walks with us in the darkest of nights.
Jesus, God’s Son, is not known as a genie in a bottle,
He’s known as a Savior that’s fought all our battles!
Becoming concerned about how we will look,
is the oldest scheme within the enemy’s book.
The moment we try to serve two masters,
God’s Word sees that as a disaster (Matthew 6:24)!
Have you distanced yourself from God’s ways,
putting off what should’ve been done today?
John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Psalms 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Matthew 6:33. Seek, ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
the. all these things shall be added unto you.
I’ll never forget a man in our church ( George Udall) ,who said, after giving his class a cookie, ” Eat this cookie, and feed your Body, read your Bible and feed your Soul.”
I like that phrase about eating the cookie to feed your body and reading the Bible to feed your soul. Such an awesome truth!
Linda,
What a beautiful poem! I love your tender heart for the LORD!
Thank you for sharing,
And I agree with Betty’s post above!
Great quote!
God Bless you~
To be empty or full depends on what we do,
It works in the body and in our spirit.
But once our day is done, we cannot retrieve it.
For we spent it with every minute.
Wisdom begins when we look at life through God’s lens.
We all falter but you made excellent points. Appreciated your insightful stances.
