One day when I was a young lad,
my eyes caught sight of a great land.
A land so beautiful and so fair,
beyond anything that I could compare.
As I had pondered it in my mind,
the view I beheld was a true find.
A picture of treasures unheard of,
accompanied by a pure white dove.
The longer my eyes began to stare,
the more the Spirit began to share.
Coming across my vision, that day,
I saw a wooden cross on display.
What I had envisioned before me,
was something I never thought would be.
What I had seen brought tears to my eyes,
as I stood gazing at this surprise.
The Spirit opened my eyes to see
and there I beheld, not Christ, but me!
Feeling His conviction from within,
He had shown me the cost of my sins!
Oh, how I had wept and prayed that day,
realizing that Christ took my place!
After I had seen the cross that day,
I will always feel His embrace.
Nothing that I could have ever done,
could replace God’s love for His Son.
The question I find myself asking,
“Have I sought You, when I am lacking?”
Lacking in love with one another,
failing to see Your love for each other.
God gave unconditional love,
by sending His Son, from up above.
Oh, that the Spirit may help us see
the evil deceivers that are seen!
For one moment, just imagine yourself.
What’s the price you’d pay for someone else?
Would you be willing to give your life too
and make the decision Christ gave for you
1 John 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
Beautiful Linda – as always.
Have a blessed day
Thank you. You have a blessed week and rest of your evening, as well!
