In The Shadow Of Thy Wings-Your Light Shines

A Poem Inspired by Psalm 36

In the shadow of Thy wings, O Lord, we find,
A refuge from the storm, a peace of mind.
Thy mercy, like the heavens, vast and wide,
Thy faithfulness, a river, deep inside.

The wicked plot and scheme in dark of night,
Their hearts devoid of truth, they shun the light.
Yet in Thy light, we see the path so clear,
Thy righteousness, a beacon drawing near.

Thy judgments, like the great abyss, profound,
Thy lovingkindness, where true joy is found.
For with Thee is the fountain of all life,
In Thy pure light, we banish sin and strife.

O Lord, preserve Thy love to those who know,
Thy righteousness to upright hearts bestow.
Let not the foot of pride come nigh to me,
Nor hand of wickedness my refuge be.

In Thee, we trust, our souls forever rest,
Thy lovingkindness makes our spirits blessed.
From mortal woes and fears, we are set free,
In Thy embrace, we find our liberty.
