He once carved a heart in a tree.
An arrow pierced the heart.
His love I knew.
It had pierced this heart of mine.
This great love; I thought—Was for all time.
That tree has long since been cut down.
So to, has the love in my heart.
Once strong and tall;
It came crashing down to the cold hard ground.
And no one was around to hear the sound …
Of … Love’s great fall!
Oh, the agony of it all!
He once carved our names.
I don’t even know now, just who is to blame.
All I know is …
On this hard road called life,
Traveling bliss;
Turned right into … Love’s great fall!
How do I regain the love that’s been lost?
Am I willing to seek love once again?
At any cost!
The love we once had, has become a fraud.
I know that real love comes from God.
He doesn’t merely love.
He is love!
He is the source of all love.
Love loves without hypocrisy.
It hates the evil it sees.
It clings to Him who is good.
And, doesn’t seek to harm;
Even if it could!
Love is patient and kind.
Love is never blind.
Envy and boasting is gone.
Honoring others first,
Self-seeking no longer belongs.
With real love, anger doesn’t easily come.
Love doesn’t keep track of all the wrongs.
Joy is found in the truth and not in evil’s sum.
Love protects.
It trusts.
It hopes; Always!
Seeking to preserve;
Love never fails.
It seems just now, that nothing remains.
I must return to true love!
For I know in me!
Faith … Hope … And Love;
They remain!
And the greatest of these;
Is Love!
Am I willing to risk it all?
To kneel until,
A forgiving heart breaks down the wall?
I’m returning!
To Him who is Love.
For, He’s the only cure for;
Love’s great fall!
