Questions From The Heart

When God first brought you into this world,
your parents treasured you as a pearl.

Precious in their eyes to behold,
they waited for your destiny to unfold.

As they watched you grow before their eyes,
they didn’t realize what God had in mind.

Soon you were sent off to elementary school,
beginning to learn about various worldly rules.

The difference between one another,
not necessarily about their skin color.

Then there came a point in your life,
that brought new concerns, shedding new light.

“Why do I feel differently,
with the way God has made me?”

Not expecting to hear such a question,
it’s often dismissed without any lessons.

“Why, my dear, would you ask such a thing?”
the parents would answer shockingly.

In reply, the child proclaimed, “My friends, at school, say it’s cool!
Their parents said they could go to the same school.”

Dismayed, as they were, they were speechless,
still in unbelief at their child’s new weakness.

The parents agreed to talk about this later,
because they were not expecting this behavior.

After their parents discussed between themselves,
they got on their knees, asking for God’s help.

“Dear Lord, please help us understand,
what You have for our child, in Your master plan.”

Seeking the Lord with all their hearts,
they felt the Lord saying, “It stems from their heart.”

“No matter what the child’s gender is,
the enemy will attack their soul within.”

We should always keep our children in prayer,
knowing our Heavenly Father does care.

The parents of this world don’t seem to see,
what lies within their true responsibilities.

God’s Word clearly tells us what to do,
when we’re faced with questions, without a clue.

We’re to raise our children within His Word,
despite what they have already heard.

Please let your children know what God has to say,
especially now, in this day and age:

Psalm 139:13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

About Linda Delgado

Linda Delgado was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri. She moved down to Corpus Christi, Texas, with her parents, where she graduated from high school in 1977. She attempted to pursue a medical field, soon after. Realizing that's not where God's plan was for her, she continued following the Lord. In 1985, she married her husband, Rodolfo Delgado (after 38 yrs, is now with the Lord as of September 2023). In August of 2022, she became a Poetry author (Living Poems: From the Father's Heart - Inspirational Poems). She also enjoys sharing God's heart through freelance writing, as well. She is also a member of Faithwriters.com. Linda still enjoys the companionship of two pets, Tina (Chihuahua) and Miss Kitty (Tabby). Their grandson (18) plans on finishing high school next year. Linda hopes to put another book together, as the Lord leads, and is hoping to pursue her interests in writing a memoir. Her writings are concentrated on hearing the heart of God, by encouraging other believers and revealing God's heart to all.

  1. A very important message stated well. Thanks for sharing your gifted poetic skills with a passionate proclamation to bring help and hope with these common issues that are challenging to everyone in the family unit.
Especially as even more evil teaching is being pushed on the young minds of this generation that can cause confusion and defiance to the minds of our youth.
Keep it up for His glory and praise.

  2. Great poem that addresses this critical issue. My article, “You Can Become God’s Masterpiece,” also alluded to this.
