The Bitter Root Of Unforgiveness

Watching ourselves as we age in years,
as our spiritual walk with Him draws us near.

Nearer to our Heavenly Father above,
as we’ve opened up to His awesome love.

If we choose to live our lives without Him,
a chasm is created by our ever-present sin.

Our sin will begin to attack our spirits at first,
which should cause a thirst for His Word.

The devil is lurking around every day,
trying to see who is weak and dismayed.

Our hearts must be attentive to Jesus always,
following Him as the disciples did, in those days.

Taking our thoughts captive is the biggest key,
to ensure that our minds are kept at ease.

The mind plays a powerful role in our lives,
that’s why it’s important to know Jesus Christ.

Reading God’s Word renews our minds,
by learning of Him as we grow through time.

His timing in all things is eternal and sure,
but it’s only in Him that our hearts are made pure.

Without our Lord, Jesus Christ in our lives,
our past can and will cause much more strife.

This is only one of many devilish deceptive ways,
that the enemy uses to destroy humankind today.

We, as believers in Jesus, should be aware,
because the devil himself tries to hide his lair.

Daily surrendering our past in forgiveness
is necessary when we are followers of Jesus.

When our words flow from unforgiveness,
our eternal future is crumbling within us.

As His believers, we have all fallen short,
when we submit, we can enter His courts.

His courts that lead up to the Heavenly throne,
reveals to us that we are never left alone.

Unforgiveness will take root if left unattended,
leaving broken hearts all around us unmended.

Do you have unforgiveness in your heart?
Holding it inside will make it hard to depart.

It infiltrates the foundation of all friendships,
destroying all it encounters, like a sunken ship.

By the time things have faded away in your life,
the enemy will use anything out of spite.

My friend, brother, or sister if this looks like you,
there is only One person who knows what to do.

Begin to take captive every negative thought,
especially all those that will leave you distraught.

The best way to win spiritual wars in our lives
is to submit them at the Cross of Jesus Christ.

He is the only one who restores broken hearts,
He will love you always, to never depart.

May the words of this poem bring healing to you,
returning all things broken, as God wills to do.

Ephesians 4:31-32 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:  and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
