The Gainful Cross

Our human minds can’t seem to grasp,
how God’s love will always last.

When we’ve wandered far from Jesus,
we start to think we can’t please Him.

From His Spirit flows Living Waters,
reaching out to us when we falter.

With this, our attitudes will change,
knowing He will remain the same.

His depth of compassion displayed for us,
was on the cross that bore His Son, Jesus.

Our Savior who bore all our sins,
including the pain, He bore within.

Jesus knows the pain of separation,
waiting for what was in preparation.

Nothing could prepare Him for that pain,
but through it there was a lot to be gained!

Revealing to us the world’s misconception,
always causing a gap leading to our destruction.

While He’s keeping us on the right track,
He still guides us despite what we lack.

Through God, Jesus became our Savior.
and through Him only will we find favor.

Why He chose us cannot be fathomed,
we just know He closed the chasm.

A sinful chasm that kept us away,
even when our sin was displayed.

Nailed to the cross for all the to see,
His act of love has set us free!

Now and forever to Him we belong,
even when we know we are wrong.

When the world pulls you away,
Jesus will guide you every day.

A challenge now comes your way.
What will you decide on this day?

To be set free of the sin that entraps you,
the choice is yours. You know what to do.

Mark 8:36 “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
