The Voice of the Savior

Over two thousand years ago,
there ensued a battle for our souls.

A war for the heart of all humankind,
as it was tugged on by the strings of time.

Knowing that time was in God’s hands,
the tug of war ensued at His command.

Even though the Messiah, His Son, had come,
Jesus’ demise would soon seem to be undone.

As Jesus, God’s Son, hung on Calvary’s tree,
He revealed God’s forgiveness for all to see.

In agonizing pain, showing His love for us,
He was willing to sacrifice His Son, Jesus.

Until that time, animals were given for redemption
and priests were in charge of each deliverance.

God laid all our sins upon His Son
and offered us the Lamb. The Chosen One.

It seemed like all was lost that overcast day,
but they would soon find God had made a way.

As the sky darkened upon His last breath,
they realized that Jesus would soon be dead.

Many who believed in the Messiah,
thought all was lost without a triumph.

God’s Chosen People would soon see,
what the next morning would bring!

It made no difference where His body was laid,
for just as He declared, He arose after three days!

Thinking hope was lost for all believers,
she heard the lies that had deceived her.

She believed in this deception creeping in
until she heard a voice that sounded like Him!

When Jesus called her name, ever so softly, “Mary!”
her saddened heart was no longer contrary.

When was the last time you heard the Lord’s voice?
Did your heart, soul, and mind immediately rejoice?

John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
