Twisted Truths

The world as we know it, is in such sad disarray,
grasping at straws, be that as it may.

We seem to have a saying for all things these days,
as if we are explaining each trial that comes our way.

Explaining in metaphorical language,
whatever fits in with our own adage.

The world today seems to have let pride in,
along with every other promiscuous sin.

It’s always been God’s will to serve one another,
but once again, our purpose becomes smothered.

Suffocated by deception and sadness,
causing confusion instead of gladness.

We, as a nation, are lost without God,
yet there are those who believe He’s a façade.

They’ve been deceived by the Father of Lies,
who is the enemy, the devil, in disguise.

His pleasure is twisting the truth,
using various adages to take advantage of you.

Many of those that cause us to think,
things are not what they seem.

God helps those who help themselves,
has been around for as far as I can tell.

Although it sounds logical and true,
once again, the enemy has twisted the truth.

If we believed we had to earn God’s favor,
then our faith would surely waver.

It would misconstrue the sole purpose of Jesus’ life,
making it seem pointless for Him to have lived and died.

His resurrection on the third day,
revealed God’s love for us in a great way.

For you see, within ourselves, we can do nothing,
but because of the cross we can do all things!

Philippians 4:13   I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.

Linda Delgado was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri. She moved down to Corpus Christi, Texas, with her parents, where she graduated from high school in 1977. She attempted to pursue a medical field, soon after. Realizing that's not where God's plan was for her, she continued following the Lord. In 1985, she married her husband, Rodolfo Delgado (after 38 yrs, is now with the Lord as of September 2023). In August of 2022, she became a Poetry author (Living Poems: From the Father's Heart - Inspirational Poems). She also enjoys sharing God's heart through freelance writing, as well. She is also a member of Faithwriters.com. Linda still enjoys the companionship of two pets, Tina (Chihuahua) and Miss Kitty (Tabby). Their grandson (18) plans on finishing high school next year. Linda hopes to put another book together, as the Lord leads, and is hoping to pursue her interests in writing a memoir. Her writings are concentrated on hearing the heart of God, by encouraging other believers and revealing God's heart to all.
