Over two thousand years ago, before time began,
a battle, for our souls, ensued throughout the land.
This spiritual war goes on still today,
touching lives in a very personal way.
Jesus sacrificed His perfect life for ours.
Yet many do not see Him past their own scars.
God, our Creator, had a plan ready to go,
before Jesus’ birth was even known.
Jesus, our Savior, took on all our sins,
in exchange for eternal life with Him!
Willingly displaying His forgiveness for us,
God was willing to sacrifice His Son, Jesus.
“It is finished!” Jesus said with His last breath,
in three days, God would raise Him from the dead!
Earthly occurrences, soon after, were spurred,
as dark clouds, earthquakes, and more were heard.
The priests, entering the temple, stood in fear,
as the veil was torn in two making things clear.
Jesus Christ, the very One who they mocked,
was indeed God’s Son, the prophesied Messiah!
Thinking more intently of securing His body,
guards were placed nearby, to keep Him from rising.
How foolish they were to think such a thing,
because the prophesies were still happening.
Once Jesus arose the third day after His demise,
this would seal our future with God, the Father, on high.
Without this hope, the sinful nature of this world,
would be in bondage to whatever Satan hurled.
You see, Easter is not about the sweeter things in life,
but the love of the Father, shown through Jesus Christ!
This didn’t just happen for those who already believe,
but this “living” cost was paid to set all sinners free!
Being we all have a free-will nature, since our birth,
knowing this truth, should tell us how much we are worth.
Our value is much greater than what others may think,
and in our Father’s eyes we will never be extinct.
As an unbeliever, what have you got to lose?
The decisions you make in life depend on you!
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
A very beautiful poem that says it clearly about the events that were to bring about the first promise given to mankind for our deliverance from the power of sin. through His Son, Jesus our Redeemer! As Ron Comfort says, the Old Testament tells us that God is going to destroy sin and the New Testament tells us how He did it!
Thank You Linda, so soothing and beautifully written.
God Bless you
Have a blessed Resurrection Sunday~
