Witness of the Light
In the still of the night, by the flickering light,
The stars twinkled above, in the heavens so bright,
Shepherds watched o’er their sheep with a watchful eye.
when a glory shone ’round, they knew not why.
An angel appeared, in garments of gold,
A Savior is born, as the prophets foretold,
“Fear not,” said he, “for I bring you good news.
In Bethlehem’s manger, the King of the Jews.”
With hearts full of wonder, they hurried away,
To the town where the holy Child lay.
Through the silent streets, in the dawn of the day,
They searched for the sign; they longed to obey.
And there in a stable, midst the straw and the hay,
Lay the Infant so pure, in a humble display.
Mary and Joseph in quiet dismay,
Gazed upon Him, as bright as the day.
The shepherds fell down, on their knees did they bow,
For they saw in His face, the glory somehow,
In worship and awe, before the Child so mild.
Of the promised Messiah, the Holy Child.
Tears flowed like rivers, from eyes opened wide,
As they praised God’s mercy, their Savior and Guide.
Their hearts filled with love, no longer denied,
They knew in His Presence; their fears would subside.
“O Light of the World, we worship Your name,
In this holy place, our voices proclaim.
Your love and Your grace, forever the same,
We bow down before You, our hearts set aflame.”
The news they did spread, through valleys and hills,
With every word spoken, their hearts did He fill,
Of the Child born to save, as the scriptures reveal.
And the light of His love, they forever would feel.
A Loving Prayer
“LORD with humble hearts, in awe of the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ. As the shepherds bowed in worship, so do we, acknowledging Your grace and mercy. Thank You for the light of the world, who brings us peace and salvation. May our lives be a testament to Your love, and may we follow in obedience and faith. Fill us with Your Spirit and guide us in Your truth. In Jesus’ holy name, we pray, Amen.”
