What Does God Have In Store For 2024?

An article I read recently made predictions for 2024. They were centered around the wars in the Middle East and the Ukraine, territorial disputes, the uncertainty of the U.S. elections, and the rapid advancement of AI.

These predictions are based on how things are progressing. In the Bible are also signs of what could happen in 2024. I am going to address each of the above areas from a biblical perspective.  God has his own agenda and in fact, laughs at the plans of humanity.

Psalm 2:1-2, and 4 says, “Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his anointed…He who sits in the heavens laughs, the Lord holds them in derision.”

Conflict in the Middle East could very likely expand this year. Matthew 24:6 states, “you will hear of wars and rumors of war.” It is interesting that this verse says “wars”, plural. Could this verse be talking about multiple wars in different parts of the world happening at the same time? A recent article asked the question, “Is the U.S. prepared to fight multiple wars?” Also, Israel is already facing potential warfare on several sides.

The war in the Middle East is all about land and wanting to obliterate Israel from the face of the earth. Her enemies have said so. That will not happen this year nor the next, nor ever. God will see to it!

Concerning the dispute over territory, Israel has made concessions over the years on land that God gave them permanently, in the time of Moses. Exodus 23:31 makes this very specific. “I will set your border from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea, and from the desert to the Euphrates River. I will give into your hands the people who live in the land, and you will drive them out before you.” It is interesting that the Pro-Hamas people chant, “from the river to the sea.” Might we see Israel take possession of all the land in 2024 that God gave them in the time of Moses?

Now on to the U.S. election. It is going to be a wild ride! I frankly don’t expect it to be a fair and legitimate election. I hope I am wrong. No matter how it goes, God is still in charge. He will have his way. Psalm 22:28 says, “Kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations.”

AI is really messing with God’s creation! And it can’t replace the wisdom of God, (I Corinthians 2:6-7). James 3:15 says, “the wisdom of man is earthly, unspiritual, and demonic.”

Consider this quote from a friend of mine in response to the AI article. “My concern about AI is that it is tainted with the ideas that men have already determined ‘truth’ and these men are not Bible believing engineers and scientists. Predetermined truth will include there is no God, life does not begin at conception, gender is fluid, the Bible is not historically trustworthy-the answers you seek in AI will be predetermined and the uninformed masses will be mesmerized by the answers they receive.”

In closing, I am going to go out on a limb and say that I wouldn’t be surprised if God intervenes in the affairs of humanity in some very obvious ways, during 2024! He will show the world who’s really in charge. The really good news, too, is that the Gospel of Jesus Christ will still be proclaimed. Many Christians will remain true to their faith and steadfast to the truth without compromise. Many will accept Jesus as their personal Savior and see their lives transformed by God’s love and grace. For these people, 2024 will be a very good year!

  1. Thanks John for your thoughts. I don’t know much about any of these issues, but the One issue I do know a little about is the sovereignty of God. That is the only big thing worth meditating upon and with our thoughts on the LORD we will not grow anxious about the works of men.

  2. Hello John,
Thank you for your timely post concerning the times and messages that are present in the world today. Jesus said to watch for the signs, and certainly they are being manifested as we speak.
    Nicely done!
    God Bless~

  3. Revelations 13

11 ¶ And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 ¶ Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

I watched that video that you posted in this article and I could see that this is a beginning of a way in which Satan can pull this off. This computerized creation makes it seem human in some ways and has a gentle voice so as not to create any fear while a person is in communication with it.. It proclaims to be alive but not like that of humankind. Yet it appears to me that it can easily be used for evil. In time as it is fed more intelligent information, the possibilities are huge about ways it can create horrible means to destroy mankind whether through the use of chemicals, tracking, weapons of war, etc. to name a few whereby people will be targeted and lives will be at stake. (This is just my opinion of course but it is eye opening).
Thank you for sharing this information.
It does make the coming of our Lord appear to be very close.

    • AI has been compared to the Tower of Babel. The thinking is that nothing is impossible for humanity to do, while at the same time leaving God out. We know what God did. He put a stop to the work Wouldn’t it be something if God did the same thing with artificial intelligence, which he could.

  4. Great job, John, in dealing with all of those issues. Many prophecies in Revelation that seemed utterly impossible years ago, are now possible through modern technology. Humanly speaking, we are living in perilous and scary times. But all of this was prophesied and in God’s sovereign plan. He is in control and will accomplish His plan. Looking at Revelation and at some passages in Ezekiel, it is exciting to know that His Coming is very close, perhaps in 2024. We need to rest in the Lord, experience His peace, and then continue doing His work till He comes. “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20).

    • I just heard a video where it was stated that AI doubles every 12 hours. Also, it can teach itself, and the AI developers don’t know how it is doing that.
