The month of June is Gay Pride Month in the U.S., celebrated by the gay community and those in support of this lifestyle. Similar celebrations are held in other countries at different times. Thousands of other children identify with a different gender than that with which they were born. This quote from an article by David Fiorazo entitled, Pushing Back on Pride: Has the Damage Already Been Done To An Entire Generation?, is very troubling: “Children are watching. Many of them have grown up thinking it’s all normal, natural, and even healthy because that’s what they’ve been told. Too many have been recruited, some have even become activists, while others have experienced depression, driving them to attempt suicide.” The verse in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it,” referring to righteousness and godliness, can also, sadly, apply in the raising of gays and transgenders.
To counteract this trend, more than 100 health care professionals and groups have signed on to a declaration, as they say, to halt dangerous transgender medical intervention. It’s called, “Doctors Protecting Children.” The American College of Pediatricians wants to abandon support of so-called “gender-affirming care.” But this is in contrast to a larger medical field which says that gender is a social construct not based on biological birth.
From a biblical standpoint, the big problem is that the gays and transgenders are messing with God’s original creative order, especially as it concerns children. God created male and female for a purpose, and designed marriage to be between a man and a woman, so that there would be both a father and a mother to lead the family. Studies reveal that there is a close correlation between young men who grow up without any type of father figure, and violent crime. This can easily be researched.
Concerning children, there is a stern warning in scripture. In Matthew 18:2-6, in response to a question of who is greatest in the Kingdom of heaven, Jesus responded, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one child in my name receives me, but whoever causes one of these little ones to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Since they are being programmed to believe the exact opposite of how they were created, they are being led astray from God, the Creator.
We should all take pride in how God created us. In the words of Psalm 139:13-16, “You formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was not one of them.”
Let us all take pride in how God created us from the very beginning. No improvement is needed. Be thankful for who you are.
John,
Do you find yourself pushing away from the world more and more? I find the acquaintances in my life are pushing away from it more and more. Great message!
God Bless~
